Content Management
Content management systems (CMS) have become essential to managing websites and document systems as the volume and velocity of information grows. Gaining efficiency is the primary motivator behind CMS implementations, specific drivers include:

bulletMaintenance and staff costs are too high
bulletContent contributors can't easily add updates
bulletPages are expired or out of date
bulletPersonalization is complicated
bulletContent reuse isn't happening

Historically CMS implementations have been custom applications, but with the lowering cost of packaged products, the landscape is changing. TI primarily uses Microsoft Content Management Server 2002.
